In a bid to discover and rank the best sectors for an overall employee experience, Reboot SEO Company analysed nearly 35,000 companies on Glassdoor based on six key indicators, to discover the sector with the highest overall rating per metric reviewed. Metrics included Career Opportunities, Compensation and Benefits, Culture and Values, Diversity and Inclusion, Senior Management and Work Life.

Research positions companies within the Media sector coming eighth out of seventeen sectors reviewed, with an average Glassdoor rating of 3.8/5.

Media sector scored top for Diversity and Inclusion, with a rating of 3.8/5, ranking third overall. Interestingly, the results highlight Diversity and Inclusion to be the most important, highest rated metric for employee satisfaction in the UK, with an average rating of 3.7 out of 5 on Glassdoor. Studies demonstrate the more diverse and inclusive an organisation is, the better it’ll perform overall, increasing employee satisfaction rates.

Further insights reveal Culture and Values and Work Life to be important measurements of success for companies in the Media sector - the next highest scoring indicators investigated. When breaking down the statistics, Reboot SEO Agency unearthed the Media sector to have placed 4^th and 3^rd place respectively, with a joint overall rating of 3.7/5.

Comparatively, the sector’s lowest ratings from Glassdoor include Career Opportunities (5^th place) and Compensation and Benefits (4^th place), displaying the sector has a long way to go to improve in-house progression and company morale, with a score of 3.4/5.

Methodology

Reboot SEO Company utilised Glassdoor rating for companies that constitute a major sector. 17 sectors in total were identified, and data scraped. Companies representing multiple sectors were tagged accordingly, and only companies with an overall rating greater than or equal to 3.5 stars were included. More than 30,000 companies’ ratings were extracted from the database, and an average rating for each category calculated.
