So who is better at a PR job? Old people or young people?
When I was a young whippersnapper I reckoned I was pretty special at PR but now I'm a bit longer in the tooth, I've kind of decided I was never really that great.
But I definitely used to be better than I am now. Ironically of course, I now get paid more.
So here are my top tips on how to gauge whether the sands of time are affecting your PR career:
1. You fancy a nap after lunch.
2. You never join in discussions about what a great singer Adele is, but you become quite animated if someone mentions Suzi Quatro.
3. You do use Facebook and Twitter, but not with enthusiasm.
4. You don’t like to drink coffee after midday in case it keeps you awake at night.
5. You wear trainers on the train with a suit.
6. It annoys you when people are hungover at work.
7. You find the background noise in restaurants a bit loud.
8. You are the poor sod who buys the milk for the office.
9. You need a bigger phone so that you can use the keyboard. (I presume my boss isn't the only PR elder with an iPad?)
I couldn't think of a tenth so feel free to add some more...
