The Some Comms Awards 2011 are open for entries

The event will be held at The Hilton in Manchester on Wednesday 19 October but the more urgent news is that they are open for entries right now and that the closing date is 22 July. So although it’s certainly not panic stations, you’ve got less than a month to get those entries in... Here are those all important categories: 1.  Best use of Twitter To inform or entertain, serve or defend, motivate or campaign... 2. Best use of Facebook To inform or entertain, serve or defend, motivate or campaign... 3. Best use of Youtube To inform or entertain, serve or defend, motivate or campaign... 4. Best use of Foursquare To inform or entertain, serve or defend, motivate or campaign... 5. Best Business Blog Recognition of a blog which has combined great content and personality to raise the profile and reputation of a business or organisation 6. Best Viral Campaign An award for the best viral campaign 7. Best Community Engagement Recognition of the best use of social media to develop, manage and engage online audiences 8. Best use of Social Media to Research and Evaluate Recognition of the best research and evaluation of online trends, topics and thoughts 9. Best use of Social Media in a Crisis An award to recognise great use of social media to respond, inform and successfully manage the online aspects of a crisis 10. Innovation Recognition of social media innovation in the development or use of a platform or app 11. Private Sector Best use of social media by a private sector organisation. This may be as stand alone activity or as elements of a wider comms / campaign strategy. 12. Public Sector Best use of social media by a public sector organisation. This may be as stand alone activity or as elements of a wider comms / campaign strategy. 13. Charity / Not For Profit Best use of social media to communicate issues or information by a charity / not for profit organisation. This may be as stand alone activity or elements of a wider comms strategy. 14. Low Budget Campaign Social media on a shoestring - an award for the greatest results for the minimal outlay 15. Best Social Media Campaign An award for the best overall social media campaign 16. Mark Hanson Award An award in honour of our colleague Mark Hanson to recognise the brightest and most promising social media communicator under 30 years old 17. Best In House Team Consistently great understanding and use of social media by an in house team 18. Best Small Agency Consistently great understanding and use of social media by an agency with up to 10 staff 19. Best Large Agency Consistently great understanding and use of social media by an agency with over 10 staff 20. Grand Prix We will also be recognising the best of the best with a grand prix award to be selected from the previous categories.
