The third annual Fresh PR Awards launched earlier this month and for the first time will accept entries from a national audience.
The PR sector seems to have an almost exhaustive appetite for awards. Perhaps this is because award wins are one of the few ways PR agencies think they can differentiate their services from their competitors. (I'd have thought there were a few other ways they could do this, but that's for another day...)
We were lucky enough to go to the Fresh Awards last year and I’d recommend them. They just seem quite…fresh.
Sorry couldn't resist. Seriously though, are they the biggest PR award of the calendar? No. But it's a good night, with a friendly atmosphere and the standard of the entries seems to compare pretty well with some of the other PR awards that I could mention.
The ceremony will be held in Manchester on March 3rd 2011. David Gallagher will chair the judges and I expect Paula Kelsey and her team will smash last year’s record entry.
The categories are split into the following areas:
Communications
Action
Public
Corporate & Consumer
Other
People & Teams
Promotional
Media
The deadline for entries is 3rd December 2010.
