My day

7.00am: My two-year-old daughter Grace gets me up asking for a drink. The next hour is a blur of getting myself ready, while my husband entertains Grace, so we can all have a bit of breakfast before we leave.

8.00am: Sing nursery rhymes on the way to drop off Grace at nursery.

8.45am: Arrive at head office in Bracknell and get a large tea to take to my desk. I then proceed to log on to my computer and check emails. The emails usually require some kind of action as any spam or conversation ones are checked and deleted on my BlackBerry.

10.00am: An agency comes to see myself and the respiratory team to show us the finished version of a project we commissioned around audit support. We are delighted with the results and just need to sign it off in full now!

11.30am: A quick planning session is done to discuss next steps and who will push the sign off through the system and what our decided deadline is for the project.

12.30am: Lunch and a chat with colleagues in our in-house restaurant.

1.30pm: Check the status of all current projects in Zinc (approval software) and action anything that is needed to meet deadlines.

2.30pm: Wednesday telecon with Porter Novelli to discuss all current and future projects. This is an ideal opportunity to talk through things rather than just email each other. As a weekly call it is always good to have the current state of play to share on all ongoing jobs ...and there are many!

3.30pm: A regular weekly task is writing briefing documents to support all the various projects, clinical data publications and any other internal communication for the sales team. Of course these are all the approved. They are often short and to the point so never take too long to write.

4.30pm: I have a 10-minute presentation that I need to prepare for a global team meeting in three weeks so I spend the rest of the day writing up the slides and deciding on what is relevant to share with the other countries that will help share best practice in how to run effective market research advisory boards.

5.30pm: Last quick check of emails and I am heading out to pick up Grace from Nursery.

6.30pm: Dinner.

7.00pm: Grace bath time.

7.30pm: Grace story and bed.

7.45pm: Sofa, glass of wine and catch up on the day with my husband Neil.
