If you hadn’t heard, the International Association for Measurement and Evaluation of Communication, (you can see why they call themselves AMEC!) has put together an interesting speaker program for their forthcoming conference.
The background to this is that AMEC agreed some principles for PR evaluation at its Barcelona Summit in June. These were designed as a line in the sand. The intention always was to move the debate on pretty quickly and create some more robust and ambitious metrics for PR evaluation, including social media, that can be used across the world. In effect creating a kind of PR currency.
And that is what this conference is all about. The unveiling of the metrics that AMEC, the PRSA, the CIPR and the PRCA all endorse and want PR people, across the world frankly, to use. (Here is a PRmoment interview we had with Barry Leggetter on AMECs plans, a month or so back.)
So, important stuff and pretty critical to the future of our industry. And it’s in London, so maybe you should make the effort and go along?
