PR Account Manager (Part time) - Payl8r

Social Money Group exist on the cutting edge of fintech. As an integral part of our communications and marketing team united by a passion for making finance accessible and inclusive, you’ll be responsible for continuing to build and maintain the reputations, visibility, fame and perception of all three of our brands. With two long-established and one launched just 6 months ago, this is an exciting time. Social Money Group are looking for a PR professional capable of crafting ideas that keep both themselves and the brands they’re representing, fresh and updated.

Someone who can see the bigger picture but is all over the detail, a true professional that’s able to create lasting connections with multiple audiences, is always finding ways to seize opportunities, pitch stories, maintain a positive image, cultivate strong media connections and add value to each individual brand’s strategic objectives. This is not a job for the faint-hearted. You’ll be thick skinned, tenacious and professional, joining a team and an office that’s buzzing with energy and laughter. The role will report directly into the group’s Head of Marketing, CEO and Managing Directors.

Role and responsibilities in more detail:

Content Creation - Develop press releases, thought leadership articles, blog and social posts, and other written content across all channels. Work with the Creative Director to bring PR-able themes to life across stunts, events, articles etc in a compelling and memorable way.

Media Relations - establish new and nurture existing relationships with key journalists, industry analysts and influencers in the fintech and wider business spaces to secure media coverage and increase our company’s visibility.

Campaign Management - lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of strategic PR campaigns and initiatives to support product launches, corporate announcements, and other key milestones, aligning with above the line advertising, the wider brand messages and business goals and target audiences.

Internal Communications - working with the marketing team and other internal stakeholders at all levels to ensure alignment of messaging and consistent communication internally and externally.

Industry Monitoring - tracking industry trends, regulatory developments and our competitor sets, providing insights and recommendations to inform our PR strategy.

Crisis Comms - alongside Senior Management, act as a spokesperson for the company and develop proactive strategies to manage and mitigate potential reputational risks, ensuring timely and effective responses to media inquiries and crisis situations.

Measurement and Reporting - Track and analyse media coverage, sentiment, and campaign performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of PR and identify opportunities for optimisation/improvement.

What we’re looking for:

• Qualification in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field preferred.

• 3+ years experience in PR, corporate communications, or related roles, preferably within the fintech or financial services industry.

• Strong understanding of each brand’s ecosystem, including key players, trends, and regulatory considerations.

• Excellent writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear and compelling messagings to different audiences.

• Proven track record of securing media coverage and building relationships with journalists and influencers.

• A strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute innovative PR campaigns that drive brand awareness and engagement.

• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in PR measurement and reporting - systems and tools provided.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Salary for this role is £40-£45k (pro rata for a part time role)
