About the role

As Head of Media and Communications, you will lead a high-performing team that builds the reputation of the RIBA, architects, and architecture.

  • You will have excellent judgement; experience of working with agencies and partners; and solid knowledge of the UK’s media landscape and political systems.
  • You will be a confident and trusted advisor to our senior leadership, providing briefings, scripts and media training. You will also have exemplary writing and presentation skills.
  • You will be culturally intelligent, committed to supporting our values, and able to forge and foster positive working relationships.
  • The role is a key member of our Senior Management Team, with collective responsibility for the organisation’s culture and success. It may also include out of hours working.
  • You would ideally have strong contacts within the national, regional and professional media – and all the better if they are related to the built environment and the creative sector.

If you are looking for an opportunity to develop your senior skills and experience with a highly-regarded organisation – this is the role for you.
