Festival Communications Lead (FTC) - Sheffield DocFest

Want to lead on the marketing campaign for Sheffield DocFest 2025?

We’re hiring for a fixed-term Festival Communications Lead who will be doing just that, as well as managing and developing external communications, helping to develop and grow our audiences, and leading on the festival’s Programme Launch.

The Festival Communications Lead is responsible for delivering key marketing assets across print, digital and video. They will manage and develop external communications, helping to engage and grow both industry and public audiences, through defined channels and messaging.

As the key point of of contact for all festival communications, they balance relationships, produce consistent and targeted messaging across a variety of assets and project manage the festival’s Programme Launch, Festival Image and Identity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on developing and implementing the marketing and branding campaign for Sheffield DocFest festival (18th -23rd June 2025)
  • Manage the creative brief and external and internal Festival graphic designers to promote and develop the Sheffield DocFest brand across all material and digital assets; working with the Creative Director and publications editor to review the tone of voice and update the style guide ensuring that it is consistently adhered to across internal and external platforms and partner communications
  • Develop Sheffield DocFest’s destination tourism offer, in conjunction with local and regional tourism bodies and the Sheffield City Council
  • In consultation with the Managing Director and the Head of Production & Operations, review the ticket pricing and sales strategies, occupancy targets and other KPIs, and implement strategies for maximising occupancy
