We are seeking a highly skilled Digital PR Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in creating and executing impactful digital PR campaigns designed to build high-quality backlinks for SEO purposes across earned channels. You will work with a diverse portfolio of clients across both B2B and B2C markets, delivering creative, newsworthy PR initiatives that attract media attention, build brand authority, and enhance search visibility.

This is a key role within our small, remote team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full cycle of PR campaign development—from ideation to execution and reporting. You will need to be an excellent copywriter, understand the media landscape, have experience with various PR platforms, and know how to sell PR angles to journalists effectively. In addition, you will help the agency select and integrate the right PR tools and software to optimise performance and measure ROI.

Key Responsibilities:

Campaign Ideation & Development:

  • Create and lead the development of creative PR campaigns that generate high-quality backlinks and contribute to overall SEO goals.
  • Tailor campaigns to meet the distinct needs of B2B and B2C clients, ensuring they align with broader marketing and business objectives.

Execution & Media Relations:

  • Manage all aspects of campaign execution, including outreach, media relations, and pitching ideas to journalists and media outlets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key journalists, bloggers, and influencers across a variety of sectors.
  • Leverage your understanding of the media landscape to 'sell in' stories that will resonate with the target audience.

Platform Utilisation & Software Selection:

  • Use PR platforms and tools (such as BuzzStream, Cision, PR Newswire, HARO, etc.) to maximise campaign performance and media reach.
  • Help the agency assess and select the right software and tools for PR outreach and reporting, and provide insights on technological investments to drive ROI.

SEO Integration:

  • Work closely with the SEO team to ensure PR campaigns are aligned with SEO strategies and deliver valuable backlinks that improve search rankings.
  • Stay updated on SEO best practices to understand how digital PR contributes to overall SEO success.

Reporting & Analytics:

  • Measure, analyse, and report on PR campaign performance, providing insights on media coverage, backlinks earned, and overall campaign impact.
  • Maintain detailed, organised records of campaign activities, timelines, and deliverables.

Collaboration & Accountability:

  • Work collaboratively as part of a small, remote team, ensuring timely communication and coordination.
  • Manage your own time and tasks efficiently, meeting deadlines and taking ownership of deliverables.
  • Report directly to the Head of Digital Marketing, providing regular updates on campaign progress and outcomes.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in developing and executing creative PR campaigns with a focus on generating high-quality backlinks for SEO purposes.
  • Strong copywriting skills with the ability to craft compelling stories and pitches.
  • Excellent understanding of the media landscape and experience in pitching stories to journalists.
  • Hands-on experience using PR platforms such as BuzzStream, Cision, HARO, PR Newswire, and similar tools.
  • Ability to assess, recommend, and help integrate the right PR tools and technologies for the agency.
  • Solid knowledge of SEO and how digital PR impacts search rankings and organic visibility.
  • Highly organised, with strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and clients.
  • Experience working in a remote environment with the ability to self-manage and be accountable for outcomes.
  • Strong reporting and analytical skills with a meticulous attention to detail.

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience in both B2B and B2C sectors.
  • Familiarity with content marketing and social media to support broader digital strategies.
  • SEO experience or knowledge of basic practices.
